A VAT certificate is an official document given by the UAE's Federal Tax Authority (FTA) certifying that a firm is registered for Value Added Tax (VAT) and permitted to collect and submit VAT to the government.
Getting the VAT Certificate is the last step in the VAT registration procedure. The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) issues this document with a unique number known as the Tax Registration Number, or TRN.
The VAT registration certificate provides the following information:
EmaraTax is the UAE's new website for digitally managing all tax operations, therefore you may locate all of your registered tax certificates there. EmaraTax migrates your tax certificates from e-services to EmaraTax after you migrate your account.
For new taxpayers, log in to EmaraTax and register for VAT by watching this video.
Note: If you are an old user and your tax registration certificate was not available as a pdf document on your previous account's dashboard, it will not be available in your EmaraTax dashboard.
In this instance, to obtain a revised registration certificate, you must submit a VAT registration amendment application to the FTA via EmaraTax, along with your updated information. Your registration certificate will be issued once the FTA has approved your application.
Dubai Customs also provides VAT Certificate services for a fee of 100 AED plus other taxes.
